Ergonomics and Anthropometry Part 1

1. Compare the two types of setup and state reasons why one of the setup is preferred.
One of the setup is unplanned and made just so a person could work and is not comfortable. The second setup is well planned to give its user the best comfort available. The second setup is preferred because it is able to give the best comfort and is very neat and organized allowing work to be done faster and neater.
2. What are the area of considerations when designing a conducive and comfortable workplace?
The areas are comfortability and simplicity, good lighting, has freedom of movement, usable desk space and good height and depth for monitor if computer is needed for work.
3. State the reasons why these considerations are important.
The workplace need to be comfortable and simple in order to help relax the user and is easy for him or her to work in. It needs good lighting not to ruin the user eyesight, freedom of movement to allow the user to move around easily while working, good workspace for the user to do his or her work at the desk with good space and a good height and depth is needed not to make the user uncomfortable to use the computer.

Holiday HW Part 1_Understanding the Elderly Challenge

Caring on Aging Issues(CAI) report on the aging population

Four Key Recommendations_
1. Good and elder_friendly housing where older people can live happily with their families.
2. An easy transportation and traveling system for the elderly so, that they can have an active lifestyle.
3.Good, efficient, cheap and accessible Health Care for seniors.
4. Giving the elderly a healthy and active lifestyle where they can have activities with friends or family members.

1 Recommendation to make our public housing Elderly-Friendly

The CAI recommends that the Government consider introducing guidelines for the provision of accessibility and safety features in the homes for seniors, through a review of the Code on Barrier-Free Accessibility, to create a more elder-friendly environment

2 Ways to make sure we can ensure that the quality of elderly care here in Singapore is affordable

2. 1. The CAI recommends setting up a new residential facility to provide intermediate residential care services.

The CAI therefore recommends that the MOH review the ElderShield scheme, with the aim to improve the coverage for older Singaporeans who require long term care.

THREE things that I can do, as an SST student, to help overcome these elderly challenges

1. Reach out to the elderly and get to know them better.

2. Spread the word of the Elderly Challenge.

3. Host activities for the elderly at school.

Personal Reflection (NEwater visit)

The trip to the NEwater plant was both fun and enriching. We learned some important points like the problems Singapore is facing with water, Why Singapore cannot rely on rain water or water bought from malaysia on long terms and how the Singapore government is planning to solve the problems. We also learned concepts like how water is recycled is recycled into NEwater by ultrafiltration, osmosis and ultra-violetradiation and how Singapore is raising awareness of saving water like making mascots like Water Wally to make people save and keep water clean. One interesting thing i learned during the trip is how small the holes are for the filters used to ultrafilter the water. To save water we could use less water when bathing, cleaning, use a cup when brushing our teeth and try to save as much water as you can whenever you are carrying out a water related activity.

It was ADMT time and we all rushed out to the canteen in hopes of capturing good photos of people. This is a picture of me(the one smiling if you can't tell) and Eugene my friend(the one that looks serious but in the same time cool). We took the Picture together and Imran got caught in the back.Check out his phone it's an iPhone which is totally cool now. I wonder whats next uPhone maybe.

Here is our great and honorable Class Chairman Christian. He was walking around and trying to find people that he can take pictures of. He took a snap shot of me and me him, we took each other's photos using our mac and if you look closely to his screen you can see me. It too dark though. I wonder how my picture turned out.

Here is our Vice Chairman Kristin on the prowl to find anyone to take a quick snapshot of with her camera phone. She was trying to get pictures that she could tell stories about and here she was rushing to take photos and she allowed me to take this one in exchange for a photo of me so this is legal if you were thinking i took it quickly without permission. You can see Christian in the background and Ren Chang appearing into the picture.

Here is Ren Chang posing for my photo. Don't he just look cool like a model who is making a million dollars a day. Ok, just joking, after taking a picture set of our chairman and vice chairman i took a photo of Ren Chang and he me. It was fun taking photos at the same time which was Ren Chang's idea to speed things up.

This is a picture i just got to take. Zach is here posing for me in a way which pretty much look like he is praying and he is looking directly at the computer's camera which i am holding so he looks like he is praying to you but actually he is just posing. Look at him he is totally into getting his pictures taken. He like everyone else is having fun taking pictures and getting pictures of themselves taken.

The whole photo taking session was fun although taking pictures with the mac was very difficult and i would like to take pictures with a camera instead.

Isometric, Oblique and Orthographic

Isometric: It is a form of representing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions. It is the easiest way of drawing 3-D. It is a form of graphical projection.

Oblique: It is a type of parallel projection. It is easer to master but the crudest form of drawing in 3-D. It uses forced depth to make a two-dimentional object look like a three-dimensional object.

Orthographic: It is also a form of parallel projection but the view direction is orthogonal(perpendicular) to the projection plane. It is a way of drawing physical object with details and is mostly used in designing houses.

It is important to remember that the state of our environment is influenced by our behavior and that we have the opportunity to either nurture or mistreat it. -from (The environment is our life support which we rely on. It is influenced by us and we can either nurture it or mistreat it.)

The Environment is our surroundings and a place we live in and rely on for our life support. The environment may influence us or we may influence it. It can be nurtured and expanded or mistreated and destroyed.

Lesson 1-Introduction to ADMT(personal reflection)

1. ADMT means creating and bring art to life using your imagination with the help of technology.

2. An ADMT student should be interested in art and is willing to learn new techniques in the field of art. He or she should also be passionate about art.

3.As an ADMT student i wish to be able to be able to improve myself in the field of art and be able to create astounding works of art.

4. To achieve my aspiration i need to learn more about digital art and need to smoothen the skills i already have.

5. Artless World- It is simply a world without art where you will just fade into the background.
